Restaurant Review Petro Ohio Girard
Date: 7/14/2010
Location: Petro Stopping
Center,
Girard, OH, I-80, exit 226
Overall Facility: Restaurant Review Petro Ohio Girard
- There is an area for
diners
just inside the restaurant (usually populated by professional truck
drivers) and plenty of seating in the back past the
buffet.
- A buffet is featured
daily. On this day, we had breakfast and there were many usual
breakfast items as well as salad.
- Diners may order from the
menu.
Pros: Restaurant Review Petro Ohio Girard
- There was plenty of just
about
everything on the bar when we came through.
- On Mike's first visit to the
hot bar, he got scrambled eggs, biscuit and gravy, tater tots, sausage,
ham, and a bowl of grits.
- On Vicki's first visit to the
hot bar, she got scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed peppers and
onions, a biscuit, a slice of bacon, one sausage link, one small slice
of ham, two types of seasoned potatoes and two tater tots.
- From the cold bar, Mike got
pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, and pears.
- From the cold bar, Vicki got
canned fruit salad, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon and a salad
consisting of lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber slices, shredded
cheddar cheese, sunflower kernels and diced hard boiled egg.
- On Mike's second visit to the
hot bar, he got more scrambled eggs, tater tot casserole, a blueberry
muffin (which he shared with Vicki) and what he guesses was coffee cake.
- Our waitress, Michele,
was
friendly and attentive to diners. Our drinks came with lemon
in a side dish. Our glasses were refilled as needed. Used dishes were
whisked away quickly. When Michele went on break, another waitress
filled in and
delivered the same excellent service. She even asked upon seeing
Vicki's silverware on a used dish if Vicki wanted to keep them (to eat
more food).
- It appeared as though food was
being replenished regularly on the bars.

Mike shared the blueberry muffin with Vicki and it
was very delicious!

Although it does not show up well in any of the photos,
Mike
asked for and received a pitcher of hot water to make his own hot tea.
There was no charge for this.
All he need to do was bring his own
tea bag.
Cons: Restaurant Review Petro Ohio Girard
- There was no cottage cheese on
the salad bar.
- There was no chocolate of any
kind on the
bars.
- One of the slices of cucumber
Vicki ate was bitter. The rest were fine.
- A few of the grape tomatoes in
the cold bar vat were shriveled.
Note: Mike has enjoyed eating at this
restaurant in the past and it was evident why from our meal there today.
