My husband and I are leasing a truck from the company he works for. He is buying the truck. We just had a baby. We are interested in having our baby on the truck. We just don't know the proper information for about going about that. Does she have to be a certain age? What is the safety rules? Like what do we need to have to secure her car seat in the back? I have seen babies and toddlers on the truck but haven't found any information on it. He drives over the road long distance. If you could provide any information possible we would be grateful. Thank you for your help and time.

Response from Vicki:
Hi, Piper,
Thank you for asking a question through our site.
You are certainly brave to consider taking a baby in a large truck on the road. Doing so may or may not save you money, depending on what happens.
We have no experience with this topic, so we're not able to guide you that way.
I have done a little looking on the FMCSA's website -- http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/ -- but found nothing about the age of passengers in a commercial motor vehicle.
You are, of course, free to do your own research on that site. If you find something I did not, please let us know.
If you are unable to find what you're looking for there, I suggest that you turn to websites where truckers' wives meet, to ask them.
I hope you find the information you need to make an informed decision.
Mike and I wish you all safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road.
Best regards,
Vicki Simons
