Important Notice

  • Take Advantage of Sales Tax Holidays

Every year, certain states have sales tax holidays that let consumers buy back-to-school (and other) items without sales tax.

Depending upon how much money is spent, the amount of the savings can be substantial.

Items that truckers may need and that may qualify for sales tax savings include computer equipment and office supplies.

What qualifies varies by state, so plan ahead and save!

  • Deduct Your Business Expenses

It's more important than ever that you deduct every business expense you possibly can.

We personally use and recommend the service described in this free webinar:

How to Pay Less Taxes and Never Worry About an IRS Audit.

What Does it Cost to Run Your Trucking Company?

I love trucking, but let's be honest: I am in this business to make money. The only thing I like better than making money is keeping it. There are two factors

Earn More, Save More

Don't you hate it when a road that you're used to traveling is closed (whether due to construction or an accident)?

According to a May 29, 2018, article, major traffic delays were expected when "a stretch of I-70 in the metro Kansas City area" was scheduled to be shut down for a weekend.

In this case, area traffic was going to be detoured onto other routes.

While it is always advisable to be prepared for things like this, it invariably takes longer to go the same distance on a detour than the original routing would have taken.

That hurts a trucker's drive time.

And if a trucker is paid based on a set number of miles (not including extra detour miles), that means being paid less per hour and less per mile than the original routing would have paid.

Don't you wish that there was some stability or way to make up for the loss of that income?
