Earn More, Save More

It seems like hindrances to being able to earn money in trucking are increasing.

Here are two examples:
  • A May 9, 2018, article reported different lengths of time that traffic was halted due to a "13 vehicle chain reaction crash... involving multiple semi trucks and passenger vehicles" on the Grapevine in California:

five hours, two hours and eleven hours.

  • A May 17, 2018, article stated, "Georgia transportation officials were forced to shut down I-75 near Atlanta for hours after a major cattle truck crash."

According to the article, the accident happened just before 5 a.m. and I-75 in Cobb County was reopened around 8 a.m.

As you know, this time frame was during rush hour.

Regardless of the length of time, any delay takes available drive time away from a professional truck driver.

How can you make up for lost drive time like this?

Now that we're past Memorial Day in the USA, many people will be going on summer vacation. Their minds may be on anticipated fun.

Observe and, where possible, learn to anticipate the actions of others.

This is especially true if fellow motorists are driving vehicles or hauling trailers/boats that may not be ordinary for them.

To all of our readers who are professional truck drivers, we wish you safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road!

Best regards,
Mike and Vicki Simons, Owners
