Overall Facility: Restaurant Review TA New Jersey Paulsboro

  • This restaurant was laid out a little differently from other TA restaurants we’ve been in.
  • The only bar that was up was the cold bar.
  • This restaurant features an all-you-can-eat menu.

Pros: Restaurant Review TA New Jersey Paulsboro

  • The salad bar had a nice, albeit small, selection of items. Vicki chose lettuce, shredded carrots, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced cucumbers, sunflower kernels and a little salad dressing as well as four grapes. Mike chose lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, shredded cheddar cheese, croutons, sunflower kernels and salad dressing.
  • From the display card on the table (not the paper menu offered), Vicki ordered the grilled chicken with a baked potato (butter and sour cream on the side), and stir fry vegetables (although they appeared to be steamed rather than fried, which Vicki liked better anyway).
  • Mike ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and corn.
  • Both of our orders came with Texas Toast.
  • Mike also got a bowl of bean and ham soup.
  • Mike got a re-order of the fried chicken the second time around.
  • Vicki was so impressed with the hot “stir fry” vegetables that she asked for a re-order of them only.
  • Mike liked the dinner rolls.
  • Vicki noticed as soon as the platter with her order was put in front of her that the grilled chicken had a strong “grilly” smell. This carried over into the taste. She mentioned it to our waitress who knew what the problem was and made things right.
  • Mike really liked the fact that this restaurant uses “real butter,” not some “whipped spread.”

She used a little of the butter that had come on the side for her baked potato on these.

Cons: Restaurant Review TA New Jersey Paulsboro

  • At the time that we went to get salad, the amount of lettuce was very low. Several patrons had to wait while someone went to get more — after Mike requested that they get more.
  • There was no cottage cheese on the salad bar.
  • The fried chicken, Mike said, was dry and needed more seasoning.
  • Vicki said that the grilled chicken was dry.
  • The bean and ham soup had tomatoes in it! Mike said it tasted odd.
  • Mike was disappointed with the size of the portion of mashed potatoes that came with his entree.
  • Our waitress was not wearing a name tag.
  • We do not recall seeing any dessert on the salad bar and none was offered to us.
