Observations: "Fuel Island Review Pilot Tennessee Greeneville"
The layout of this truck stop is about the worst we've ever seen. The queuing area for trucks waiting to get fuel is so short that when only about half a dozen trucks are waiting for fuel, they get backed up out on the road. There are basically only two lanes to access the bays, one of which is supposed to be left open for trucks coming in to scale out.
On this particular day, we saw a man dressed in a Pilot shirt wearing a headset run out and start directing trucks to come down the scale only lane. Drivers who had already gone up as far as possible in that lane who were waiting for fuel were literally blocking access to the far right hand bays as well as the scale!
This situation is stressful for drivers.
There are not very many places to park at this truck stop either. The location is completely land-locked.
May Pilot never design another travel center like this one again!
