Observations: "Fuel Island Review Pilot New Jersey Carneys Point"
This is a really small truck stop with a limited number of fuel bays and only about 11 parking spaces after the bays and maybe 2 more to the left.
On the day that we came through, there were two trucks parked in the fire lane on our way in and the few "available" legal parking spaces after the bays that were really inaccessible after coming through a bay because of insufficient room to swing a truck between the bays and the spaces. With the other 2 parking spaces to the left filled, we were unable to park to go in and get a shower after fueling.
We observed how with trucks parked in the fire lane, trucks entering the fuel bays with other trucks to their right did not have sufficient room to swing their rigs to enter a bay straight-on but the drivers had to jack their trucks from an angle. This can be dangerous.
This facility does not have enough room before or after the bays for easy maneuvering. May Pilot never built another facility like this again!
