My wife does this a lot.

Response from Vicki:

Thanks for sharing. While we discuss using baby wipes on our site, we have never thought about using them to clean the fur of short-haired animals.

As you probably know, there is a certain amount of cleaning agent (a type of liquid soap or shampoo) that is included in the solution with which baby wipes are saturated.

Given this (and the possibility that other ingredients like baby oil and skin lotion are included in the recipe), we recommend that if you use baby wipes to clean an animal's fur, that you also use something like a wet-with-water-only washcloth to clean off the residue. This is especially important for use with cats since they "clean" themselves by licking. No one wants their beloved feline to come down with an illness from ingesting residual soap left on their fur from a baby wipe.

Baby wipe cleaning may be useful in between pet baths. However, this raises the issue of how a professional truck driver gives his/her pet a bath while on the road. I have never seen an animal walk into or be carried into a truck stop to "shower" with a driver. We would like to know how drivers do it. Do you just wait until you can get home? What if you don't have a place to call home?

Thanks again for sharing.

We wish you safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road.

Best regards,
Vicki Simons
