Review of AireDock
Anti-Idling System by Truckers

Among various anti-idling comfort control options is AireDock, a standalone system whereby professional truck drivers can receive

  • heat or air conditioning through a "protected air delivery vent,"
  • in-cab power (115v, 20amps) and
  • Internet service.

Their old website stated that each of their units (which weigh less than 10 pounds each) allows for self-service credit or debit card payment. Time selection increments range from 1 to 12 hours.*

A photo showing the unit hooked up to a big rig is online here.

Two things that we found unique about this anti-idling system as described on the website are:

  • "Universal Window Adapter with no additional equipment required"; and

  • "Air is clean filtered fresh air, NOT RECYCLED. Note: Recycled air has the potential for contamination for bacterial growth in air pipe, bad smells and infection".

As you can see from the photos on the site (like this one), each unit is individual and stands alone.

We previously covered the issue of idling, including giving a link to a calculator to determine how expensive it is to idle a large truck and providing anti-idling alternatives for drivers of commercial motor vehicles. The system described on this page is one such alternative.

As of January 2014, this idling alternative was not on the EPA's list of Smartway "Verified Idling Reduction Technologies" Electrified Parking Spaces (EPS) / Truck Stop Electrification (TSE) service providers.

If you are a professional truck driver and you have used the AireDock Anti-Idling System within the last 6 months, we invite you to review it on this page through the form below, answering questions such as these:

  • At what location did you use the service?
  • How long were you connected to the service?
  • What aspects of the service did you use?
  • How well did the service work?
  • How would you rate the quality of the service?
  • How much money were you able to save using the service versus idling?
  • What was the hourly rate you paid to use the service?
  • Do you think the service was worth the price you paid for it?
  • Would you use this service again and why?

Did you know that you as a professional truck driver can write a review -- like the one on or linked from this page -- to help other truckers in the worldwide trucking community? You can even earn money in so doing.
