Important Notice

  • Change #1 is Coming

We started our website through a host that has treated us well for over 7 years.

But with over 1,000 pages on our site, the ability to manage our content has become increasingly more difficult -- and the flexibility and functionality that Vicki wants simply isn't there.

So, we're going to be changing our website's platform -- which will take some time due to the amount of content.

Vicki looks forward to continuing to serve you, our readers, by using a well-known content management system with greater flexibility and functionality.

  • Change #2 is Coming

Because of the change of our website platform, we will be changing the means by which we deliver our email newsletter.

We envision continuing to meet your needs for high quality information this way.

Contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Prevent This!

According to a December 27, 2016 article, a trucker was "travelling 'at an unsafe speed' during drizzle" when he crashed into a vehicle, killing "four members of a Rio Grande Valley family".

The truck driver faces "four counts of criminally negligent homicide". The wreck happened (of all times) on Christmas Eve.

Whenever there is precipitation -- of any kind or amount -- it is harder to stop a vehicle than when the road surface is dry. Remember your stopping distance.

Furthermore, many things can hinder visibility, including rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog, dust, smoke, etc. Do not "over-drive" what you can see.

Prevent this!

Earn More, Save More

According to a January 3, 2017, article, "Truckers accounted for most workplace fatalities of any occupation in 2015".

In other words, driving a truck was the deadliest occupation in 2015.

OUCH!

Even if you're doing everything exactly right as a trucker, you could wind up dead due to someone else's mistake on the road.

Winter weather has been rough in a number of places so far this year:

It is costly every time truckers have to wait for weather conditions to improve.

Are you among those who have been forced to shut down your rig due to bad weather so far this winter? How do you feel about that?

When you're shut down due to winter weather -- and you can't earn money from your trucking job -- you can still do something about growing your income in your off-duty hours! (Here's one example.)

Vicki is revising the Second Income for Truckers E-Course into a different format, which will be available soon.
